The Gainesville Garden Club, Inc. (GGC) has been a sponsoring group of the SGF Committee’s since 1992.  While its initial responsibility was the children’s area, it has since added the Silent Auction and has provided many of the committee’s officers over the years.  The GGC has also been responsible for chairing many of the key subcommittees.

The GGC was founded September 11, 1924 and has been in continuous operation ever since.  The GGC was established initially to provide an organization where women could meet to share gardening knowledge and swap plants.  Since then the GGC has taken on many more tasks including beautification projects all over the city and county, establishing scholarships for students at area institutions and sponsoring research in horticultural programs.
